AS-TEG™ Central Coordinate System
The purpose of the global control network is to establish a common, consistent network of physical points that are the basis for ensuring the accurate horizontal and vertical positions of all current and future digital capture projects.
By establishing such networks, laser scan or UAV photogrammetry data; for example, can be positioned with greater accuracy and more importantly relative to the asset gridlines/co-ordinate system for which most engineering design models are based on.
Without the use of a global control network, data captured in the future cannot be guaranteed to have a direct relationship to one another leading to potential problems in engineering work scopes and possible re-capture of data on/offshore.
